The Life of a Shoe

The life of a shoe is very extensive. A lot more extensive and painful than you think and the shoe does not like this. Not all shoes don't like their life. Only this one doesn't. It tells its story.
Leave the factory in this small, tight, itchy cardboard box; shoes have to be free you know?; on to the truck to the airport; it's a bumpy ride; I would slap this driver if I could, he's terrible; off the truck; through the x-ray machine; onto the plane; I like planes; I don't have to do anything on them except take my wearer to the bathroom...EWWWW; sit in the plane for a few more hours; off the plane; on to another truck; What?; this seems like the same driver; Hey buddy slow it down before I drop kick you!; to the warehouse; off the truck; onto a hand cart; as you know, I'm in a box with nine other boxes with a pair of shoes; the box is opened up; ah the light!; the box is closed again; it was just for inspection; Darn, whose ever idea that was I am going to kick for getting me all excited for the light of day and then to have me boxed up again; I feel movement;p onto a shelf maybe? Yes, we have stopped; a few hours on this shelf and I would... wait! we're being moved again!; I sense a truck; Yes, a truck, and we're on the move; I hear mall spoken; Off to the mall; that means light!; off the truck; into the store; out of the box; onto the shelf; time passes; I am very impatient; YAY! I am bought; ouch, ouch!; be careful putting me on; i walk my wearer out; he likes tough terrain; ouch! ouch! oh my gosh!; what is his problem?; Now he is running?!; what the heck?; ouch! ouch! ouch!; EWWW!; He stepped in mud; I look at myself; I am hurting because I am ripped a lot already; that’s what you get pal!; treat your shoes better!; he looks down at me, curious at to where that voice is coming from; that’s my voice!; he takes me off and puts his old ones back on; he throws me out; sad face.

A Father's Agonizing Choice

You are an inmate in a concentration camp. A sadistic guard is about to hang your son who tried to escape and wants you to pull the chair from underneath him. He says that if you don't he will not only kill your son but some other innocent inmate as well. You don't have any doubt that he means what he says. What should you do?

This is an easy decision. Although I do have sympathy for the other inmates, I would rather not kill my own son. I wouldn't be able to take the depression after being ordered to kill my own son and then killing him.
